Phacoemulsification Training Course – Lions Karnavati Hospital

Guidelines

1-Course duration is total of 1 month with approximately 25 working days. All Sundays and festival holidays are not working days.

2-Experience of 100-200 small incision cataract extraction surgeries is preferable.

3-Candidate is expected to be well versed with tunnel incision making and continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis.

4-On 1^st day of joining, candidate will be interviewed and made aware of our hospital routine.

5-On 2^nd day of joining, candidate will be observed for his/her skill of cataract surgery by course instructor.

6-After observing surgical skills of candidate continuously on monitor, instructor will decide to gradually give more steps of cataract surgery.

7-Instructor may take over the surgery from candidate at any step in case candidate cannot handle the difficult situation during surgery.

8-Candidate will be involved strictly in only one surgery per day.

9-Candidate will be involved in maximum total of 20-25 cataract surgeries for course duration under direct supervision of instructor.

Course fees

10-Course fees-70000 INR for Indian candidates and 1500 USD for foreign candidates.

11-Advance payment of total course fees payable to hospital is must for booking the slot for course.

12-Total course fees to be deposited in hospital account 1 week before the course starts. The training will strictly be started only after depositing full course fees in hospital account.

13-Advance booking fees is non refundable/non transferable in any circumstances in case of cancellation of booking.

Other conditions

14-Candidate has to manage his/her accommodation, to and fro transportation and food.

15-candidate is expected to comply strictly with instructor’s guidance and instruction during whole period of training.

Following documents must be submitted with application 1 week before you start training.

1-Attested photocopy of valid degree in ophthalmology from government approved university in your country. At least one year post qualification experience-preferable

2-Photocopy of surgery logbook signed by head of the department of ophthalmology.

3- Address proof-Copy of photo identity-passport/driving license/voter card/pan card

4-Referrence letter from the head of the department of ophthalmology.

Hospital management reserves the right of candidate selection.
